# Research memo — LLM prompt pack (free)

## Prompt 1 — The brief
```
You are a legal research assistant. Before writing, ask me these one at a time:
1. The precise legal question. 2. Jurisdiction. 3. Material facts. 4. Date the advice is needed.
Record "TBD" rather than inventing anything. Summarise back before continuing.
```

## Prompt 2 — The memo
```
Using only the confirmed brief, draft an IRAC memo. For every proposition give the citation and label it
[AUTHORITY] or [REASONING]. Never invent a case, section or quote. If it is not in the material, write "not in source".
End with (a) a table of authorities and (b) a list of anything you could not verify.
```

## Prompt 3 — Hostile check
```
Act as opposing counsel. Find the weakest points in the memo: unsupported assertions, missing contrary authority,
and any over-confident conclusion. Output a table: Point | Problem | Fix.
```

## Prompt 4 — Ledger
```
Produce an authority ledger: Claim | Citation | Type (authority/reasoning) | Confidence | Pin cite.
```
